My small dent in the grid

by Jon Pompia

jonmichael@hotmail.com

By the reactions, you would have thought I was giving up a lung or my beloved cats.
“My god, what are you going to do now?”
“You did? What are you going to get?”
“What will you do when it rains?”
“How will you ever manage in life?”
This “indispensable” item of which I decided to part with is none other than an automobile, in this case an older model Porsche 944.

Dell Streak 7-inch 16GB WiFi Android Tablet $399 + $100 gift card

by George Heymann

techeadlines@gmail.com

I ran across this Logic Buy Deal which expires today for $299 (after factoring in the $100 gift card) thought it was a fantastic value, too good to pass up. I love the performance of the Nvidia Tegra platform. So I’m willing to roll the dice on the rumored Honeycomb update.

The Dell Streak 7 is powered by Nvidia Tegra T20 Dual Core processor (1GHz) and Android OS 2.2 Froyo and features WiFi, Bluetooth, 16GB storage, 1.3MP front and 5MP rear facing cameras, Adobe Flash 10.1 and more. (Look for our review soon)

Should simulated violence in video games be a cause for concern?

by George Heymann

techeadlines@gmail.com

This debate has been ongoing since the dawn of video games, with several study results in direct contradiction of one another’s findings.

Personally, being a consumer of various video games — some of which are violent —  I believe this issue is a symptom of our societal tendency to shirk personal responsibility in favor of blaming media for anti-social behavior.

T-Mobile LG G2X Review

by George Heymann

techeadlines@gmail.com

The T-Mobile LG G2x is my first LG phone of any type, Smart or other wise. It’s the first dual-core phone offering available for T-Mobile’s USA Network. Even though it’s my first LG phone, my previous experience with the company’s other products was favorable, making the decision to purchase the G2X an easy one given the phones other great features.

More long-lost forgotten songs

by Jon Pompia

jonmichael@hotmail.com

This continues a list of the best songs you’ve (likely) never heard, or haven’t in ages, but definitely should track down.

“I’m Down,” The Beatles. It’s hard to say any song of The Fab Four is forgotten, but this one remains a hidden gem. Because it didn’t appear on an official album — only as a B-side to the “Help!” single — “I’m Down” didn’t get the exposure other great Beatles songs did.
Frantic, fun and rocking, this tune became a concert staple short after its 1965 release.
