On Dec. 16, Google debuted the Google Nexus S in conjunction with launch partners T-Mobile and Best Buy. The Nexus S is the first phone to feature Gingerbread, Google’s latest version of its Android OS (2.3).

According to an Android Police source the Gingerbread SDK will be available next week. With the new SDK will come the new API calls that should end the speculation about the level of functionality that will be added in the next version of the Android OS code-named Gingerbread.

I wanted to share a recent find, an Android camera application by Urbian Inc. called Retro Camera. The app is free to download and is advertising-supported. Since installing the application, I’ve been impressed with the camera effects and just how much fun the program has been to work with.

They say “Hindsight is 20/20” and although that may not always be true, time does give us the benefit of experience. If I would have written this review after using the Google Nexus One dock for a short time it would have been very different. After using the dock for 4+ months I’ve done a 180 degree turn on many of my initial impressions. Let me give you my “Monday morning quarterback” observations.

For those of you still waiting here is the latest on the OTA update from the official Google Blog. It upgrades the baseband to 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7 Kernal Version 126.96.36.199-27227-g3c98b0d android-build@apa26#1. The official update installed without any problem over the previous unofficial builds I had installed before. Will updated this post with any changes from previous builds if any as they are discovered. Update(s) after the break.
