Vibe ‘Feel’ who is calling

Technology-Headlines

Vibe is a free Android application that lets you assign vibration patterns to your contacts so you know who’s calling without having to look at your phone. The program was recently updated to work with SMS & MMS text messages.

The app lets you assign custom vibration patterns in the same way many users choose to assign a custom ringtone to contacts, except that its private and discreet. Vibe developer Base2Apps, calls Vibe “A caller ID with vibration patterns.”

Vibe comes pre-installed with 5 free custom vibration patterns and currently there are 5 additional premium patterns that can be purchased for .99 cents each or as a 5-pack bundle discounted for $4. I would prefer the developer give us the option to purchase a pro-version of the program that would allow us to make our own vibration patterns that we could share with other users.

Using Vibe is simple and straightforward, The program opens to your contact list, you choose a contact and select a custom vibration pattern, that’s it. What could be easier?

Vibe has utility in a number of situations, whether you are in a business meeting, at the movies, church, or anywhere you need to be discreet, Vibe can keep your personal calls and messages, private, by silently alerting you and no one else. If you have a sight or hearing disability Vibe can also be a useful tool.

The application is a free download from the Android Market, I recommend you download it and give it a try.
