Beginning Feb. 15, the last.fm radio service built into most mobile apps will be converted to an ad-free premium subscription-only service — with the exception of U.S. and UK users of Xbox Live and Windows Phone 7.

The last.fm website and desktop app will remain free in the U.S., UK and Germany.

Here is the list of last.fm- supported devices and associated subscription requirements:

Last.fm staff member Matthew Hawn specified that other last.fm services would be unchanged. “This change only affects the radio component of last.fm’s services on mobile and home entertainment devices. Other features of our service — like scrobbling, music and event recommendations, social networking and community forums, and Last.fm’s wiki-based artist information pages — remain free to users worldwide.”

For those affected mobile users, subscriptions will be offered as recurring monthly payments for $3, as well as one-off payments for one-, three-, six- or twelve- month subscriptions.
